Camping at Donkleywood offers you a low-impact experience for environment-friendly camping, in a truly beautiful secluded setting with a wild camping feel.

Stay with us in a variety of settings such as nestled in the secluded woods or in an open field and you will have breathtaking views of nature and scenery. We have sheep, our own family of goats and there are deer wandering around the land and we are sure they will be happy to say hello. There is also a large variety of birds nesting within the trees so don`t forget to bring your binoculars if this interests you.

You're free to have a bbq and we have them available to hire along with fire pits and all the wood and charcoal you will need is available too so please just ask.

It really is wild here, we have no electricity (bring torches please). Compost loos are available as is water from a bowser and showers will be shortly available. You can get phone reception in some places if you really need to – this really is a peaceful back to nature experience.

We offer free parking on site and then it will be a short walk to your pitch. It’s almost always possible to find a secluded pitch, meaning there can be little contact with fellow guests unless you actively choose it.

Panoramic views of stunning countryside that are part of Northumberland National Park. It's a tranquil, mostly off grid, clover field campsite.

If you do fancy a short drive to a fantastic country pub and maybe a meal please just ask and we will give you directions to our very own pub just 10 minutes away in Bellingham.

We believe in the old adage 'to leave no trace' and hope you can help us to apply this. It means engaging with and being sensitive to the environment you are camping in. And it means recycling everything possible, buying local, avoiding waste and being immersed in the natural experiences of camping - like campfires, starry skies, new friends and fresh adventures.
